The short version

Some links on JobScamScore to third-party protection services (such as identity theft monitoring or personal data removal tools) are affiliate links. If you sign up through one of these links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Commissions never influence scan verdicts. Our scam-detection engine runs completely independently of any commercial relationship, and no partner can pay to change a score, a verdict, or the evidence we show you.

1. Why we use affiliate links

JobScamScore's scam scanner is free. Affiliate partnerships with reputable protection services help fund the free tool while pointing users who have already been exposed to a scam toward services that are genuinely relevant to their situation — identity monitoring after personal information has been shared with a fraudster, or data removal after a résumé has landed in the wrong hands.

2. Where affiliate links appear — and where they never do

Affiliate recommendations appear only in protective contexts:

  • On scan results with a risky verdict, inside the recovery guidance shown to users who may have already applied
  • On company pages where our scans found risky or caution-level postings
  • In educational guides about recovering from or protecting against job scams

They never appear:

  • On scan results with a safe verdict — if nothing is wrong, we won't recommend paid protection
  • Inside the scan verdict, score, or evidence itself

In every placement, our free advice comes first: contacting your bank, freezing your credit with the three bureaus (which is free by law), and reporting to the FTC. Paid services are only ever presented as an optional additional layer.

3. Our independence guarantee

  • Scan verdicts are produced by our analysis engine with no input from, or awareness of, our commercial relationships. The recommendation module reads the verdict; it can never change it.
  • No partner can pay for placement inside scan results, a better verdict, or removal of negative findings.
  • We only partner with established services we would recommend to a family member in the same situation, and we drop partners whose products or practices fall short.
  • Affiliate links are marked with a disclosure notice wherever they appear, and carry the sponsored link attribute.

4. FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255). Our participation in affiliate programs — which may include identity protection, credit monitoring, and data removal services — constitutes a material connection that we disclose both on this page and directly alongside every affiliate link on the site.
